I'm sure one of these days i'll come up with something really clever or thought provoking. For the time being you will read my ramblings instead.
I just spent about an hour trying to figure out what song i heard on the radio today. I despise the radio. It is such old technology. I despise the fact that you have no way of knowing what song you are listening to. You would really think that stations would at least have the courtesy to tell you the name of a song and the artist before and after it is played. Instead we settle for an announcer saying every once in a while what song was played.
So thats the problem but wait there's more. Along with its already subpar features you can hardly ever find a station that plays music that appeals to you most of the time. I respect the fact that the station I listen to is at least trying to get some input from listeners by doing an online survey. But this is just unpractical. Why should I put up with this when I can just listen to my MP3 player? ....... thats what i thought.
Unless you enjoy the bickering of morning shows or annoying DJs I can't understand why you would listen to the radio. Face it, it is dying. It is free to use and that's the only reason it still exists.
But i suppose i'm avoiding all the positives.
-local weather reports
-driving conditions
-free, but i mentioned that already
I still listen to the radio. That may surprise you after all my anti-radio ramblings. But I only listen to Christian radio, which i'm not huge on the musical genre but I am the message. I do enjoy hearing a little insight from the DJ's occasionally to be honest although they do annoy me to a high degree. I find no reason to listen to them on any secular radio station though because i'd rather be listening to music.
I miss my old 102.3. It used to be awesome before mexican music started blaring from its waves. It was the only station with a semi-good selection of indie rock. But now it is gone and has been for months now.
If you've read to this point you truly are my number one fan and I commend you. Feel free to leave your opinion as a comment.

You should come to Angola. You would like TSU's radio station 88.3, it's awesome.
Did you figure out which song it was that you didn't know? I find that the easiest thing to do is google the lyrics.
